Power on, lock, sleep, hibernate, restart or shut down. Restart and shut down ask you to confirm it's you first, so a browser someone else picks up can't switch anything off.

A wake you can count on
Before you rely on waking a machine, Syndovia checks what could stop it and says in one sentence how to fix each thing. Then you can prove it for real, with tests that wake it from sleep, from hibernation, then from a full shutdown.

Syndovia hardware
We're designing a stick about the size of a TV streaming stick, for the cable between your router and a machine: Ethernet in at one end, out at the other, and USB-C for power. It will wake the machine from one step away, know for certain whether it's off, asleep or on, and put things back after a power cut. Everything Syndovia does will still work without it.

No passwords
You sign in with a passkey or an authenticator app. There's no password to guess, reuse or leak.

Every command signed
A command is a signed object, and the machine checks the signature before it acts. Anything unsigned, altered or out of date is refused.

A fixed set of actions
The software on your machines can do a closed list of things and nothing more. There's no way to send it a script.

Nothing destructive, late
A restart or shutdown needs your approval there and then. A machine cut off from Syndovia can still be woken by its neighbour, but never switched off.

Questions
Which computers does it work with?
PCs and servers running Windows 10, Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022, 64-bit, today; Linux and macOS are planned after launch. To wake a machine, Wake-on-LAN has to be on in its settings, and another Syndovia machine on the same network has to be awake to send the wake. The wake check tells you if either is missing, and how to put it right.
Do I need to change anything on my router?
No. Every machine connects out to Syndovia, the way your browser does, so nothing needs opening or forwarding.
What if Syndovia itself is down?
Your machines carry on as normal, and nothing is changed on them while it's away. Schedules they already hold still run. The dashboard, commands and alerts come back when Syndovia does. During early access Syndovia runs on a single server with no standby, so this can happen.
Can my family or my team use it?
Yes. Invite them into your organisation as an owner, admin, operator, viewer or billing member, so each has only what they need. Everyone signs in with their own passkey or authenticator app.
Will I be able to use a machine's desktop from somewhere else?
Yes, it's on the way: remote desktop, from a browser, for any machine you have access to, with nothing else to install. Until it arrives, Syndovia looks after power, health and upkeep.
Is there an app for my phone?
The dashboard works in your phone's browser today. Apps for Android, then iPhone, are planned, with notifications and your fingerprint or face to approve a restart.
What happens when the trial ends?
Subscribe to Plus or Pro to carry on. If you don't, your organisation turns read-only: you can still see everything and take an export, and we email you more than once before anything is deleted.
Where is my data kept?
During early access, on a server we run in England. Backups are encrypted before they leave it. The privacy policy says what's kept, where, and for how long.
